Where the hell have I been, loca?

Hello.

Terribly sorry for my 2+ year absence. I never intended it to be an absence. Really, I was hoping for an Irish Goodbye.

That’s right, I decided to hang up my hat on the whole Hot For Fudge venture back in 2021. I just wasn’t getting the same enjoyment out of it as I once was. But that’s not ice cream’s fault—I had plenty of other things on my mind.

Since my last post, I’ve moved to Chicago, started a new job, continued to process the grief of a worldwide pandemic, started making my own sausages, learned what “ennui” means, became a bike commuter, yada yada yada.

But then something funny happened. I kept running into people who asked me about my blog. “What happened to your ice cream blog?” “Are you going to start posting again?”

Frankly, I did not realize anyone besides Karen Marie Skousen read this blog. And now that I’m starting to feel more settled in life, I find myself itching for a creative outlet. One that satisfies both of two my core needs: Attention and Sweet Treats.

So, I’ve returned. Hopefully I’ll have a steady stream of content for the masses, but please forgive me if I miss a Sunday here or there.
